How it all started?
Billionton Systems Inc. was established in August of 1997 by a number of highly experienced professionals in the field of PCMCIA manufacturing.
It was built on a vision of the future of PCMCIA, a market which we will see grow and grow alongside the ever-expanding mobile PC market, and which offers mobile users add-on peripherals that are powerful, flexible and user-friendly.

Philosophy and Background

Innovation - because customers have come to know that they can not only count on us for existing technologies, but can also expect to be the first amongst their rivals to hit the market with newer and ever more exciting technologies.

Quality - We know that the accrued costs and loss of revenue that anything less than the highest quality product scan bring are unacceptable to any discerning customer. That's why, when it comes to quality, we get it right the first time.

Flexibility - Because we are operating in an industry where there is only a narrow difference between the words "recent" and "relic", we have to be flexible enough to adapt to new technologies, new protocols and new concepts. Flexible enough to meet the varying demands of our customers, providing solutions that they need today, and researching solutions that they wish to market tomorrow .We know that, to our customers, time is money. That's why we offer the fastest response time to customer enquiries in the business. We provide one of the fastest turnaround times for customized requirements, as well as short lead-times for regular orders.

Service - Our broad range of technical support services includes online support, staffed by professional FAEs, as well as a whole host of technical services from our website, such as downloadable upgrades. Of a less technical nature, but equally important, we put great emphasis on product localization, with packaging, manuals and application software available in several languages - which reflects our commitment to understanding the needs of our clients' customers.
Short-term goals: To achieve our goal of designing and producing a broad spectrum of products, enabling our customers to source their products from one supplier only.

R & D
Billionton is already highly respected in the PCMCIA field, even after a relatively short time in production, and one of the main reasons for this is its very strong R&D department. At the time when the company was founded, it was realized straight away that in order to make a difference, Billionton had to have an R&D team that was second to none.
This is one thing that we have striven to create from day one. Already, we have been joined by a number of engineers who are at the top of their fields, in areas such as PCMCIA hardware, telecommunications hardware, driver software design, multimedia hardware and PCB design, to name but a few. Having built such a strong R&D foundation, we are not resting on our laurels, but rather continuing to enhance the department by constantly seeking and recruiting engineers who we feel are made of the right stuff - who not only have years of relevant experience, but who also want to be part of a team at the forefront of development of this field. We continue to go from strength to strength.

Marketing
Billionton Marketing knows only too well how important our customers are to the development of our business. To earn and keep our customers' trust and respect, we have to look at it from their point of view. That is why, unlike many of our rivals, our aim is to fully understand the mobile peripherals market, and have a firm grasp of our distributors' relationship with their customers, in order to optimize both our service to our customers, and our customers' competitiveness in the market. Also, we aim to anticipate any future trends in the mobile market, especially those which we believe will be user-friendly products that will make the user's life more convenient. We have a fantastic range of products, which is of course something which we are very proud of, but we want our customers to be equally proud of this. This is only possible if we allocate distribution in such a way that gives our customers the chance to make their mark - i.e. through careful market planning. Furthermore, our customers realize that we are single-minded in the pursuit of manufacturing products which are ever more user-friendly and reliable, but at the same time unlikely to break the bank. We also make purchasing even more economical and convenient by offering one-stop shopping, with a full range of PCMCIA. We believe this is a philosophy which, in the long run, can only help us and our customers, and as such is one we intend to maintain.

Manufacturing
The high standards we achieve at Billionton, in product quality and production costs, are down to our collective experience in precision manufacturing and inventory control. It is only through precision assembly, based on the stringent requirements of ISO 9001 and using the latest SMT technologies available today, that we are able to produce PC Cards with such rigorous high standards - and it is only through efficiently managed inventory control that we are able to keep our costs down to a bare minimum, and pass component cost reductions onto our customers after such a brief period.

Quality Control
Here at Billionton, we have the greatest faith in the quality of our products, but faith is not enough to assure ourselves that none ofthe components in our products have suffered damage during the production process. Therefore,we don't leave it to chance.
Instead, we test 100% of our products after production before they go out of the door.
This is the only way we know to be 100% certain that they leave The factory in impeccable condition.
Furthermore, we believe PCMCIA products should be as rugged as possible for use on the move, so we always put our cards through their paces before we ship - whether it's humidity, temperature or shock - so we can be sure not only that they leave the factory in top condition, but also that they stay that way !

Quality Control
Billionton have already made their mark in the field of PCMCIA, and continue to go from strength to strength. We have established ourselves as a major player in the OEM market for Fax Modem and Network PC Cards, as well as compact and ATA flash memory - and we have emerged already as market leaders in the field of DVD/MPEG-2 PCMCIA.
Through further investment in R&D and production resources, we will consolidate this position and look to expand into complementary fields of mobile peripheral research, be it new and emerging PCMCIA technologies, from ADSL and Controller-less Modems to HomeLAN adaptors, or other mobile solutions, fromPalm-top and wireless technologies to Mini-PCI.
